Advanced Computer
Applications Grade level: 10-12 Number of weeks: 40 Prerequisite: Keyboarding, & Computer I & II Number of credits: 1 Advanced Computer Applications is designed for the student who desires to increase his or her computer knowledge after working with computers at the intermediate level in Computer I & II. This course approaches the use of computer applications at the advanced level to continue to challenge students who are already computer literate with word processing, spreadsheets, database management, slideshow presentations, the Internet, and electronic mail skills. This course content expands their knowledge using these skills at a more advanced level and also introduces two additional types of computer applications: graphic design with Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator and desktop publishing with Adobe PageMaker. Students learn how to create their own WWW homepage using Hypertext Markup Language. Windows utility function will be incorporated throughout the course to teach students how to better manage their computer files. |
