This course is designed to introduce students to the realties of the world of work. It teaches students the skills needed to succeed in school, on the job, and on their own.  Students learn to prepare for a future career. They learn about the job search process including resume development and interviewing strategies. They also learn about the value of interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills. Students learn about paychecks, how to figure their taxes, and how to set up a realistic monthly budget based on their income and expenses. Finally, students learn about the organizational structure of major corporations as well as the benefits of becoming their own entrepreneurs. This course is a requirement for students pursuing a sequence in Computers or a BOCES Vocational sequence. Students must also pass a Regents Proficiency Exam at the completion of this course.
