Cincinnatus Central
School Alumni Association:
On August 4, 1991 the Cincinnatus Central School Alumni Association
re-established the Annual Alumni Dinner, which continues to draw more
than 200 guests annually. The alumni committee set the first Saturday
and Sunday of each August to become the Annual Alumni Weekend that
continues today. Each year on this weekend, the alumni, working with
different groups in the school and community, provide a great welcome
back weekend. There is a program in the Wilbur Auditorium which features
performances by Cincinnatus Alumni followed by a great dinner in the new
gymnasium.
All of this was brought about through the cooperation of the
Administration, Board of Education, and Alumni. The Alumni Committee
consists of Terena (Stone) Loomis, Chairperson and Program Director;
Ethelyn (McNally) Gardner, Secretary; Lorena (French) Perkins,
Treasurer; Eleanor (Gardiner) Harvey, Advisor; Gretchen (Gardner)
Shufelt, Program/Dinner Decorations; and Margery Talutis; Mailing Labels
Manager. The Alumni committee also invites at least two representatives
from the fifty-year graduates each year to be on the committee, as these
are the graduates who are honored each year. This committee meets about
once a month from January to June each year.
No dues are collected from Alumni, although donations are welcome to
help cover the cost of postage each year. Each and every alumnus from
Cincinnatus Central School is considered a member of the Association and
encouraged to join.
