| This year’s play is The Education of Angels by Matthew Carlin. It’s a comedy with some very touching scenes about two angels-in-training. These two are transported back to Earth for their final exam. Their adventures as they work through their assignment make for an entertaining story line, suitable for audiences of all ages.
We’re practicing every day now, and as usual at this point, practices sometimes seem pretty disorganized and sometimes quite funny. By now, we know that somehow things will come together at the end. We are working on set elements and costumes, and could definitely use some volunteer help. Experienced actors, including John Ludwig, Chelsea Reome, Veronica Rowe, Dusty Fisk, Gabrielle Lester, and Steven Vancise are playing the lead parts. They are joined this year by newcomers Kyle Jordan,. Making her acting debut as the young child is Briann Lehman, a sixth grade student. Behind the scenes, Heather Fox provides essential support of all kinds. Other Drama Club members will be enlisted in the very near future! We will be very busy in the month of March, publicizing the play, making the set, arranging for costumes and make-up, producing sound effects, musical sound track, and lighting. We will also need refreshments for sale during the intermission. Mrs. Andre, last year’s co-advisor, has taken a well-deserved break this year and is at home with her newborn daughter, Lydia. We miss her a lot! So, if anyone would like to help in any way, we would welcome you! Please be in touch with Mrs. Harrington or any Drama Club member. This year’s performances will take place on Friday April 25 and Saturday April 26 at 7:30 p. m. Advance sale tickets will be available this year. You may also purchase tickets at the door, immediately before each performance. | |
