| There are approximately 25 members in the club. The majority are 7th & 8th graders. The rest are 9th graders. The Spanish club has taken trips to New York City where they've attended Spanish
Museums and ate at authentic Spanish
restaurants. They visited Spanish sections of the city where the signs, store names, and advertisements were all written in Spanish. They also attended a play, Don Quixote de la Mancha", in a
Syracuse high school a few years ago. In the future, they would like to take a group of Spanish students to Mexico or Spain. They also do fundraisers to have money to take trips and
attended various events. Every Easter for the past 7 years, they hold their annual
Gertrude Hawk candy sale fundraiser, this does very well. Their Spanish dinner in the early fall has always been very beneficial good fundraiser. It not only profitable, it brings the families in the community of Cincinnatus together and enlightens them to another aspect of the
Spanish culture. |
