  Ten Computer Ethics for Online Use
 
  1. Do not use a computer to harm other people.
  2. Do not snoop into other people's files or e-mail.
  3. Do not give out your password.
  4. Do not chat live online.
  5. Do not give out your postal mail address or phone number without written permission from your guardian or parent.
  6. Do not send chain letters via e-mail and jog cyberspace.
  7. Do not look for joke lists online or send jokes via e-mail.
  8. Do not swear or use inappropriate language in written e-mail.
  9. Do not use a computer to bear false witness.
  10. Think about the social consequences of written words in e-mail.

*Always use a computer in ways that show consideration and respect
