The Teacher Center belongs to various professional organizations and receives journals on a monthly basis which can be checked out. In addition, the Teacher Center maintains and updates a professional library to keep the teachers current and proficient in the classroom. The hours are very similar to the school day but can extend into evenings and weekends. The Teacher Center is governed by a nine member board, which decides the types of things the Teacher Center should offer. Our resource is also shared with the faculty and the staff for the Christian Academy as well. Therefore the programs are available to these teachers too. The Teacher Center is also willing to fund mini grants to afford teachers the opportunity to develop and implement innovated ideas and teaching strategies. The Teacher Center is funding jointly by a grant from the state and from contributions from the district. |
