Superintendent Search

August 10, 2018

Dear Cincinnatus Community:

With the upcoming retirement of Superintendent Steven V. Hubbard, the Cincinnatus Central School District has launched its search for a new and highly-qualified leader to guide our students and staff into the future. To begin this process, the Cincinnatus Board of Education has tapped into the resources and expertise of Onondaga-Cortland-Madison BOCES District Superintendent and CEO Jody Manning, Ed.D., who is offering his services at no charge.

So far, the district has worked with OCM BOCES to create a wonderful video that highlights the many positive attributes of our district, including its rich rural history and exceptional opportunities for students. We are also working with OCM BOCES to develop and disperse a job vacancy announcement and application in its national search for the best and most suitable superintendent candidates.

Finally, the district has posted on online survey in hopes of getting essential feedback from you and all of our stakeholders — staff members, parents, students, and other community members — about qualities we are looking for in a new superintendent. Please be sure to fill out this survey and add any thoughts you might have to guide the Board of Education in this process. Please note that the survey will be open until Friday, Sept. 21.

Overall, we expect this search to take approximately five months, with the goal of having the new candidate begin his/her post on or about Jan. 2. When the final slate of candidates is determined, the Board of Education will have another opportunity for district stakeholders to take part by participating in candidate interviews. Further details about those interviews and the selection timeline will be announced once they become available.

Again, we hope you will take the time to complete our online survey. To locate all of the information about our search, please visit our school district website at cc.cnyric.org. Information about the search has also been posted at ocmboces.org.

Thank you for your time, input and support as we embark on this important task.

Sincerely,

President, Cincinnatus Board of Education
