For the safety
and security of both the bus drivers and the
passengers, each bus is equipped with a camera and video recording
device that constantly records the activity on the buses. This
equipment, Ultrak-The Witness, begins recording
when the ignition is started and remains in the recording mode
until 10 minutes after the ignition has been turned off. Also
recorded is each occurance of yellow and red flashing light activations,
brake use, and opening of emergency doors.
All buses are equipped
with flashing front "STOP" signs that
are extended when the red flashing lights are activated for passenger
loading or unloading. Additionally, all new buses will be equipped
with a rear "STOP" sign for better visibility to motorists
following the bus.
