Our Cincinnatus Central School Library is the center of teaching and learning for the entire school community. The school library embraces and encourages innovation, creation and collaboration through inquiry and exploration. Our priority is to prepare future ready students to become lifelong learners and to develop an appreciation for literature and a passion for reading. We are committed to helping each and every student to meet and exceed challenges on their educational journey.

The mission of the Cincinnatus Central School Library program is to provide the means necessary for all students to become well-rounded exceptional learners by:

• Providing dynamic instruction that includes collaboration among students and teachers.

• Providing resources necessary for growth and understanding in an ever changing world.

• Encouraging an environment that fosters investigation and exploration of information.

Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading incentive program for students in grades 3-12. The purpose is simply to encourage students to read good books and have fun competing with peers. Students work in teams of 3-4 people to read and study a set of 8 books. Each grade level has a different set of books.

All participants are asked to read and study all books for their grade. We have planned meetings once a month starting in September. All participants will battle at the building level competition at the end of March/beginning of April. The winning teams will advance to the regional finals at the end of April.
