Cincinnatus Junior Macy Shevalier Selected for NYSSMA Area All-State Zone 3 Senior High Cjoir

Macy Shevalier, an 11th-grade soprano, has been selected to perform with the NYSSMA Zone 3 Sr. High Area All-State Choir. Shevalier earned this honor through her outstanding solo results from the spring NYSSMA festival. She will perform with the ensemble on January 31, 2026, at Ithaca College, joining some of the top high school vocalists from across the region.
Shevalier was also accepted into the Area All-State Choir last year but unfortunately came down with the flu and was unable to attend. This season gives her the opportunity to take the stage and fully experience the event. Her continued dedication and growth as a vocalist have helped her reach this achievement.
Shevalier began singing at a young age and started taking music more seriously during middle school. Since then, she has worked hard through music classes and lessons to strengthen her skills. She credits much of her success to the guidance and support of Cincinnatus music teacher Amanda Steinhoff, who has played a significant role in her musical development.
Looking ahead, Shevalier hopes to pursue a career in music education, with the goal of sharing her passion for music and inspiring future generations of students. Her selection to the NYSSMA Area All-State Choir reflects her commitment to and her love for music.
